This privacy policy describes how information is handled by the Chrome extension "Lunchmeel" (the "Extension") and its introduction website (the "Site").

1. Information handled by the Extension

  • Voice: Voice control uses the browser's built-in speech recognition (Web Speech API). In Google Chrome, microphone audio is sent to Google LLC's speech recognition service and converted to text (Microsoft Corporation's service in Microsoft Edge). How that service handles the audio is governed by that company's privacy policy.
  • The resulting text is used only on your computer to recognize commands and is never stored or sent elsewhere.
  • The microphone is used only while you have started the Extension and its tab is visible. On first use, an explanation is shown and your consent is requested before starting.
  • Information read from the YouTube page: For recommended, related, and end-of-video recommended videos, the video ID, title, channel name, and thumbnail address are read from the YouTube page and used only to show and pick videos. They are never stored or sent elsewhere.
  • Information saved in the browser: Settings (voice language, matching strictness, quit confirmation) are saved in the browser's sync storage (chrome.storage.sync); the consent record in the browser (chrome.storage.local); and the record of which tab was started in temporary storage that is cleared when the browser closes (chrome.storage.session). If Chrome sync is on, settings are synced to your other devices through your Google Account.
  • The Extension does not send any of the above to servers of the operator (we wanted.). The operator does not collect or receive it, and does not share or sell it to third parties.

2. Information collected through the contact form

  • Inquiries are handled with Google Forms, provided by Google LLC.
  • You may optionally enter your name (a nickname is fine) and an email address for our reply.
  • The information is used only to reply to your inquiry and to improve the Extension and the Site. Except as required by law, it is not shared with third parties without your consent, and it is deleted when no longer needed.
  • Information entered in the form is stored on Google's servers.

3. Site analytics

  • The Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics by Cloudflare, Inc. It collects aggregated data such as page URLs, referrers, browser and OS types, screen size, approximate country or region, and page load speed.
  • It does not use cookies and does not track individuals.

4. Cookies and advertising

  • The Extension and the Site currently use no cookies and no ad-serving services. If that changes, this policy will be revised and you will be notified.

5. Server access logs

  • Because the Site is delivered through Cloudflare, your IP address, browser type, access time, and pages viewed may be recorded during transmission. These are used only for secure operation and troubleshooting, not to identify individuals.

  • The Extension is not an official YouTube or Google product and is not affiliated with either company.
